Welcome to Homebugs childminding in Calne! I am Jo Murray welcome to my home page. I look after children in our family home, which I share with my husband Gordon (a Design Specialist for Sky), my daughters Katie (who is in Year 3 of Fynamore Primary) and Imogen (aged 4 years). We also have Leo a very laid back 2 year old cat and a tank of tropical fish.
I made the decision to move from teaching to child minding in 2008 and so completed my Home Based Childcare Diploma. Since then I have looked after 11 children ranging in age from 8 months to 7 years old. I have continued to study Early Years and as part of my professional development I have recently gained Early Years Professional Status -this means that I have met 39 standards laid down by the Children's Workforce Development Council in the care and guidance I give to the children in my care. I have ( I am required to by Ofsted) to have a current Paedatric First Aid Certificate, which I recently updated and passed - I also have the Homecarers Food Hygiene certificate. I also hold a current swimming teacher qualification and will continue to develop my knowledge with more courses - watch this space! I am passionate about children learning outside and so to learn more myself I will be taking the children on some Forsest School taster sessions soon.
My OFSTED no is EY388381 and my last inspection rated me as "good"
I have now become an acredited Childminder - February 2012 which means that as well being able to accept employer generated childcare vouchers I will now be able to accept Government Childcare Vouchers for the over 3s in my care.
